# calm IT operations.

otira is the IT operations tool where a person reviews every change before it goes live. Each change is shown in plain English, published as a numbered release, and can be restored.

## the name

otira, said **oh-tee-rah**, stress on the middle. From the Latin _otium_, restful, productive calm, the classical opposite of _negotium_, busywork. It's also a mountain pass in New Zealand: calm on the far side of rugged ground.
